The New Way
When the umbilical cord is cut it is necessary to place clamps on the severed ends. This procedure currently involves the midwife clamping the umbilical cord at two places, and then cutting between the clamps.
The current procedure involves the use of 5+ instruments, posing potential sharp injury risks.
The overpressure in the umbilical cord makes it possible for the blood to spray, posing the risk of bloodborne infections such as hepatitis B, C, E and HIV.
Using our ClampCut® product, the risk of sharp injuries and blood spatter is minimised, and thereby makes for a safer procedure all together.
